Assembly, erection and installation are one of the big key points of floating wind turbine systems.
The floating foundation with tower and turbines can be installed on a dedicated semi-submersible assembly barge with a special onboard lifting system.
None of the entire processes requires a costly special vessel and this concept works almost independently of the port’s characteristics, such as the locally available quay, space and facilities. In addition, the assembly barge can be disassembled providing a high degree of flexibility regarding transport and deployment.
